Early Lock
A calmer first week
An opt-in launch mode: every buy until the first 10% of the curve is bought is held in escrow for 7 days, so the earliest money can't sell into the launch.
What it does
A creator can choose Early Lock when they launch; it cannot be added later. On an Early Lock token, every buy until the first 10% of the curve has been bought goes to an escrow contract instead of straight to the buyer, and each is held for 7 days from that buy. After that, the buyer claims their tokens. At today's graduation targets 10% of the curve is about 0.5 ETH on Robinhood Chain and about 1,200 USDC on Arc.
- It counts money, not wallets: tiny buys barely use up the window, so a sniper can't burn it with dust and then buy big unheld.
- The buy that crosses the 10% line is held in full.
- The creator's own launch buy is always held, whatever its size.
- Only buys count towards the 10%; selling never reopens the window.
- Early wallets — the ones best placed to buy low and dump — cannot sell during the first week.
- If a rug is confirmed while positions are still held, they are seized, so the rugger's early wallets never get to exit.
- Buys after the first 10% go straight to the buyer, as on any token.
For creators
Turning it on is a signal: it shows traders you are not planning to dump on them in week one. The token page and cards show an Early Lock badge.
Where this stops
- If your buy is held and a rug is confirmed during your 7 days, your escrowed tokens are seized too. Seizure stops the rugger; it does not refund anyone.
- In practice the protection covers roughly days 0–5 of each position: the lock is 7 days and a seizure takes a further 48 hours to execute.
- A challenge during that delay is recorded publicly but does not stop the seizure.
- Early Lock does not protect buys after the first 10% of the curve.
