Hold Mode
A tax that pays holders and burns supply
An opt-in launch type: a 10% tax that falls to 2.5% as trading volume grows, burning supply, adding liquidity and paying holders.
What it does
Hold Mode is chosen at launch on Robinhood Chain, Arc or Solana and can't be changed. Every buy and sell pays the Hold Tax: 10% at launch, stepping down as the token's trading volume grows. It never rises again.
| Volume | Tax | Burn | LP | Holders |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | 10% | 4% | 2.5% | 1% |
| $500k | 8% | 3% | 1.5% | 1% |
| $1M | 5% | 1.5% | 0.5% | 0.5% |
| $3M | 3.5% | 0.5% | 0.25% | 0.25% |
| $10M | 2.5% | — | — | — |
- The tax includes the usual 2.5% platform fee. At $10M only that fee is left.
- Volume is every buy and sell on the token's Bluu curve and pool, added up. It only grows, so a step is reached the moment it's passed and the next trade pays the lower rate.
- Faking volume pays the tax on every trade, and most of that burns, adds liquidity or pays holders.
- Milestones are converted to the token's currency at launch: exact on USDC, moving with ETH on an ETH token.
- It keeps running after graduation, on the Uniswap pool. The sniper tax and the 3% wallet cap still apply.
On Solana
Fewer steps, because Solana applies a lower rate two network epochs after a step (2–5 days). The tax includes Solana's standard 3.125% fee.
| Volume | Tax | Burn | LP | Holders |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Launch | 10% | 3.375% | 2.5% | 1% |
| $1M | 5% | 0.875% | 0.5% | 0.5% |
| $10M | 3.13% | — | — | — |
- The token is a Token-2022 token whose transfer fee is the Hold Tax, so every transfer pays it, on any pool, wallet to wallet too.
- On Bluu's curve a step applies at once: the curve refunds the gap while the token still charges the old rate. After graduation the lower rate starts 2–5 days after the step.
- The tax is collected in the token. The burn share is burned outright; the shares for holders, liquidity and insurance are sold for SOL, so rewards are paid in SOL.
- At graduation, about 86 SOL bought in, it moves to a Meteora pool whose liquidity is locked for good. The sniper tax applies on the curve; there is no Early Lock or wallet cap.
Where the tax goes
- Burn: buys the token and sends it to the dead address. On the curve every 10th trade; on the pool in batches with a price floor.
- Liquidity: set aside on the curve and added to the Uniswap pool at graduation, then in batches. It can never be removed.
- Holders: fills each round's reward pot (below).
- The creator's 0.5% fee share also burns, on every trade, for the token's whole life, even after $10M.
Holder rounds
Rounds start at the first trade: 30 minutes, then 3 hours, 6 hours, then every 24 hours until $10M of volume.
- You qualify if you hold at the start, don't sell or send any during, and still hold at the end.
- Your share of the pot is your balance at the start, over all qualifying balances then.
- Selling only costs you that round. Tokens still in Early Lock escrow don't count.
- Bluu works out who qualified from the chain, the attestors sign it, and you claim with Claim All. Unclaimed rewards go to platform revenue after 30 days.
Examples
- A $100 buy at launch pays $10: $4.50 burns the token (with the creator's $0.50 fee share), $2.50 to liquidity, $1 to holders, $2 is the rest of the platform fee.
- The same buy after $1M of volume pays $5: $2 burns, $0.50 to liquidity, $0.50 to holders, $2 is the rest of the platform fee.
- A round's pot is $1,000. You held 2% of the qualifying tokens at its start and didn't sell: you claim $20.
Where this stops
- The creator earns nothing from trading and sets no tax: their fee share burns.
- Buyers pay more than on a standard token until volume grows: 10% a side until $500k.
- Who qualified is worked out off chain and signed by the attestors. It can be checked against the chain, but claims need their signed result.
- Holder rewards end at $10M of volume.
- On Solana every transfer pays the tax, moving tokens between your own wallets included, and after graduation a lower rate starts 2–5 days after its step.
- On Solana, Hold Mode runs on devnet today, on Bluu's own curve program.
