Trading on Bluu
Fees, slippage and graduation
What a trade costs, why one can fail, what changes when a token graduates, and which chains Bluu runs on.
Where you can trade
| Chain | Paired with | Fee per trade |
|---|---|---|
| Robinhood Chain | ETH | 2.5% + any tax, or the Hold Tax |
| Arc | USDC | 2.5% + any tax, or the Hold Tax |
| Solana | SOL | 3.125% |
Bluu is on testnet today: Robinhood Chain testnet, Arc testnet and Solana devnet. Test coins are free from each network's faucet — Robinhood's faucet for ETH, Circle's faucet for Arc USDC (also Arc's gas), and the Solana devnet faucet for SOL.
On Robinhood Chain you trade with plain ETH: no wrapping, and selling on the curve needs no approval. After graduation, a token's first sell asks for one approval.
What a trade costs
Every buy and sell pays the platform fee — 1.5% to insurance, 0.5% to the creator, 0.5% to the platform — plus any tax the creator set at launch, up to 10% a side. Taxes never change after launch. The trade panel shows each part before you confirm. See Creator fees and Launching on Solana.
A Hold Mode token has no creator tax. It has a Hold Tax instead: 10% a side at launch, platform fee included, stepping down for good at market-cap milestones to 2.5% at $1M. It applies on the curve and on the pool. The token page shows the rate now and the next step. See Hold Mode.
The first 25 seconds, and the 3% cap
A buy in a token's first 25 seconds pays a sniper tax: 90% in the launch block, falling evenly each second to nothing at 25 seconds. It comes off first and goes entirely to the token's insurance pool; the platform fee and any creator tax are then charged on the rest. The token page shows the rate beside the name while it lasts, and the trade panel warns before you buy. Sells pay no sniper tax.
On Solana the sniper tax is the trading fee itself, set in Meteora: it starts at 90% and falls by an equal step every second to the normal 3.125% at 25 seconds, on buys and sells alike. Meteora keeps its usual 20% of the fee; Bluu's program sends all the rest that the window takes, the creator's side included, to the token's insurance pool before any of it can be split. The creator's launch buy, made in the same transaction as the token, pays the normal fee. There is no 3% cap on Solana.
Until a token graduates, no wallet may hold more than 3% of its supply after a curve buy, counting tokens held for it in Early Lock escrow. The creator's own wallet is exempt from both.
Slippage, and why a trade fails
The panel quotes what you will get, then sends a minimum with the trade: 1% below the quote by default. If the price moves further before your trade lands, it fails instead of filling at a worse price. You lose only the network fee. Try again, or raise the tolerance.
Graduation
Every token starts on a bonding curve: the price rises as people buy. When enough has been bought in, the token graduates to a DEX pool, and its liquidity is locked there.
| Chain | Bought in to graduate | Market cap at graduation |
|---|---|---|
| Robinhood Chain | 5 ETH | ≈ 24 ETH |
| Arc | 12,161 USDC | ≈ $58,780 |
| Solana | ≈ 86 SOL | 400 SOL |
- The buy that crosses the line is partly filled and the rest refunded, so the curve never overshoots.
- After graduation you keep trading on the same page. The fee split is unchanged.
- Robinhood Chain and Arc graduate to Uniswap v4; Solana graduates to a Meteora pool.
Where this stops
- A tax above 2% is allowed and fixed for good. Check both rates before buying.
- A Hold Mode token costs 10% a side until its trading volume passes $500k.
- The 3% cap counts one wallet. It does not stop anyone using several, and it ends at graduation.
- A high slippage tolerance protects the trade from failing, not you from a bad price.
- Testnet coins have no value, and testnet contracts are replaced when Bluu redeploys.
